I have written at once to Mr Bartlett who will send you an answer about the ducks I hope he will be able to get you what you wish.
I fancy your story about drakes that have been hatched by chickens pairing with chickens only is a 'myth'. I have written to Menzies to send up the fisherman for the great lake Trout for your lake at Frogmore and have also given instructions about the Perch, Roach and Dace [spawn?]

I am exceedingly obliged to you for your very kind letter I have had the 'Seal' correspondence reprinted as I am about to send a copy to the Captains of all the Scotch ships so that the matter can be discussed by them on the spot. I am very grateful to you for your offer to bring the matter before H.R.H. the Crown Prince of Prussia I am sure this would do an immense deal of good. It is really very kind of you. There is to be a fine picture of the Massacre of the Innocents in the 'Animal World'. I will not fail to send you copies. No Gazelles yet I am keeping a sharp lookout

I have seen Mr. Rulich about the Deers Foot and Horns. He will bring them both down to you next Wednesday 16th leaving Paddington 8.15am arriving Great Western Station 9.10am. I have told him that I would ask Your Royal Highness to send the cart for him if you would be so very kind as to do so.

According to your kind permit I have described the big Deer Horns in Land & Water to-day. I have sent them to Mr [Rulich?] Upper George St, Bryanstone Square and told him to take them to you with the Stags foot in the case. [Rulich?] wants to know if the shall mount the Windsor Great Park Horns for you and if so whether on a plain stand or upon another head with skin etc. Will you kindly give him your orders about bringing down the foot and the horns. I am away all next week on inspection duty

I have this moment received the enclosed from my friend Mr Walker the Photographer. I thought you would like to see them kindly return them to me. H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh most kindly came to the Fish Museum with the Duchess. I am Tremendously pleased, particularly as he brought H.R.H. the Duchess. I wrote the 'Wild Animal Market' in to-day's paper to amuse H.R.H. That vulgar article in to-day's L & W about the Scorpion [fight?] was put in by the [?] editor quite against my wishes

Tomorrow Tuesday I propose to send down for your inspection a most beautiful screen representing Spring and Summer flowers painted from nature by my good sister Mrs Gordon. If you would be so very kind as to submit the screen to H.R.H. The Princess I should feel it is a great compliment to the family still more so should any opportunity occur to show it to Her Majesty The Queen. Mr Serle (my Secretary) will also submit to Your Royal Highness a cast of your Monster Pike. Another cast painted by Mr Rolfe will be shortly send for your acceptance.

My dear Buckland

I am passing thro Town on my way to Cambridge and have just stumbled on a park. If my Servant passed thro' Oxford and remembered to call for my Hat good - But if not pray send the said Hat to the office of the Cambridge [?] in order that it may be conveyed with the least delay to my head quarters in Trin. Coll. An old white Beaver is the present covering of my unacademical nob. and it will cut a sorry figure with a gown My coat is out of elbows and my [?] (made by the way by the fair hands of Mrs. B) is without any lining so I have need to call in all my reserves. My love to Eva and the rest of your squadron, my best regards to Madame
