Huxley was elected Secretary of ZSL in 1935. By 1940 he had come into conflict with the ZSL Council and some of the Fellows. He resigned in August 1942, as he had associated himself with the 'Informal Committee' opposing the Council. The papers here are about this 'Huxley Controversy
