        Edward North Buxton was a British conservationist and Liberal Party politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1885 to 1886. He was also an alpine climber, with significant first or second ascents in the 1860s. He was a founding member of the Society for the Preservation of the Wild Fauna of the Empire, now Fauna and Flora International
