The Tisch Family Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem, popularly known as the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, is a zoo located in the Malha neighbourhood of Jerusalem. The Zoological Garden, Alipore (also informally called the Alipore Zoo or Kolkata Zoo) is India's oldest formally stated zoological park.

The zoo had its roots in a private menagerie established by the Governor General of India, Richard Wellesley, established around 1800 inn his summer home at Barrackpore near Kolkata, as part of the Indian Natural History Project. The first superintendent of the menagerie was the Scottish physician zoologist Francis Buchanan-Hamilton. Sir Stamford Raffles visited the menagerie in 1810, and doubtless used come aspects of the menagerie as an inspiration for London Zoo

The Zoological Society of Ireland is the body responsible for running Dublin Zoo, where it is based, and Fota Wildlife Park in County Cork. it is the successor to the Royal Zoological Society of Ireland, a learned society of the study of zoology. The original ZSI was founded in Dublin on 10th May 1830 at a meeting in the Rotunda Hospital called and chaired by the Duke of Leinster 'to form a collection of living animals on the plan to the Zoological Society of London'. Toronto Zoo is a zoo located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Around 1880, businessman Harry L Piper established a Zoological and Acclimatization Society (also as Toronto Zoological Garden) and opened a zoological garden. In 1888, the Riverdale Zoo opened in Toronto, as a typical example of a zoo during this time, with animals displayed as curiosities in dark cages and cramped enclosures. Animals from Piper's zoo moved to this site. In 1963, a private citizen's brief to build a new zoo was introduced by Hugh Crothers to the Chairman of the Council of the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, William Allen. Allen asked Crothers to head up a committee to investigate the feasibility of a new zoo. By 1966, a group of eleven people became The Metro Toronto Zoological Society with Crothers as the first chairman
