The original ZSI was founded in Dublin on 10th May 1830 at a meeting in the Rotunda Hospital called and chaired by the Duke of Leinster 'to form a collection of living animals on the plan to the Zoological Society of London'. Dublin Zoo opened in September 1831 in the Phoenix Park. The Society's first general meeting was held in November 1832. San Diego is a zoo in San Diego, California. Its parent organisation, the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, is a private nonprofit conservation organisations, which also operates the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The San Diego Zoo grew out of exotic animal exhibitions abandoned after the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. Dr Harry M.
